TheLFG Sixth is v 59and theLFG Sixth is v 61were single motor, twin float traveler seaplanes created and built in Germany in 1926 by the Luft-Fahrzeug-Gesellschaft. They differed only in their motors.
Style and advancement edit
Thé V 59 and V 61 were both twin drift seaplanes, basically identical apart from their engines and made to bring four or five passengers. The Sixth is v 59 was powered by a 240 horsepower (179 kW) BMW 4 6-canister water cooled inline and the V 61 by a much more effective, 400 horsepower (298 kW) Bristol Jupiter 9-cylinder radial.1They were metal aeroplanes both in frame and covering, low side monoplanes of thé semi-cantilever type with exterior bracing between the higher fuselage and wing and more assistance from below viá the flat topped floats. The wings had been straight tapered with rounded suggestions. The fuselage was flat sided ánd bottomed, with windows down the part and with á braced tailplane installed on top of it. The rudder prolonged well below the keeI.1

Operational history edit
Bóth the Sixth is v 59 and the V 61 were came into into the German born Seaplane Competition, held between 12-23 July 1926 with plane tickets along the Baltic and North Sea coasts from Warnémünde.1The V 59 do not score in the specialized tests but the V 61 emerged sixth in them whilst not finishing the whole course.2
